I once chanced upon a stranger's blog where the author had a post about how when she has nothing to say, she just posts pictures. You know what I'm getting at... So here are two of my latest paintings.
The first one represents spirit, the two facets as I see it, one resistant and strong, and the other seeking nurturing and peace.
The second one is probably the painting I have taken the longest to complete. I had started it months back and took long sabbaticals. I struggled with it, especially to get the light and shadow effects, the dress, and the angle of the woman's turn. Since the picture was in my head and not something in front of my eyes, it was all the more difficult to bring the vision to life. This one represents mystery. Why is she headed from light to dark? What does her countenance suggest? Why does she turn back as she leaves?
