I want to remember this day. I am going to make a record of it by writing this post. I want to remember this historic day all my life. Barack Obama is President of the U S A! And I am here, witnessing this day!
It's the day after MLK day (a special MLK day indeed, this time around). What's the day like? It's very very foggy in Seattle today. Not many people at work, not sure why. It seems like just another Tuesday, going by my schedule and task list for the day- doing "work" work for the next 3 hours, and then I am off to UW in the afternoon. But I know today is important! I have missed the live telecast of the swearing in ceremony, but will catch it on tele in the night.
I am not particularly at my high point these days, in general. Nobody around is. Many companies, including mine are laying off and cutting benefits. But I know we'll get through this and hope we do so fast, without having to dwell in the nadir of our spirits too long.
How is Obama going to solve all the crises - the economy in depression, the troops in Iraq and the energy crisis? I am full of nervous excitement. Time to grab those beastly problems by their horns!
PS: And today internet is unbelievably slow, reason being, the Obama crazy heavy traffic this morning - this post is one of those drops in the ocean!
