A week of no nights: The End

I had written about my Alaska vacation several weeks back in the following posts-

But I never got to wrap it up to call it a trilogy in four parts, so I am doing that now. I have more travelogues to write already, so I deemed it best to flush out the queue. So here it goes...

After an eventful stay at Fairbanks, we packed our bags and set out on a long-ish drive the next day. We drove down south to Anchorage to catch our plane back to Seattle. The drive was flawless, though the blues of ending such a supremely awesome vacation were setting in.

On the way we stopped at the lady and her sons' deli/grocery store near Denali one more time. I'd referred to this place in this post. And we had the most unbelievable vegetarian tomato soup. It also had corn and rice in it and became the inspiration for one of my later recipes described in this post. :-)

We reached Anchorage in the afternoon and went around downtown for a bit. We were so surprised at how nice it looked this time around compared to when we had landed there from Seattle, when it looked like a ghost town with no one around. Downtown Anchorage is rather nice. There's water and beach, hilly streets, some nice houses, bicycle rentals and some interesting and very 'Alaska' stores. When it's sunny it's great!

We spent some time downtown, ate dinner and winded down. And the next morning we boarded our flights back to Seattle.

What a fabulous holiday it had been!

Alright, now I can get to writing at least some quick posts about my India and San Diego trips!
