Beneath the layers

One day our boundaries will break.
We will let down our guards.
We will speak not through words.
But through the glances of our eyes.

Things can't just be this quiet,
We can't pretend we are cool,
With seeming nods of approval,
And wide toothy smiles.

A day will come, when it is time for closure,
And that day, we can either
Converse man to man or
Combat man to man.

Should I come to you like a dove,
Carrying a message of universal love?
Or should I come to you like an armed warrior
Carrying a sword to pierce through your pride?

Pride does no good, my man.
Substance and action does.
These walls you build are so fragile,
Reluctantly they replace your lost will.
