This post is intended as a homage to Pink Floyd. It's my most cherished Pink Floyd song and everytime I hear it I quiver. It's not possible to move backward in time; it's not possible to get younger, but I hope it is possible to shine on forever as time moves on... I hope it is possible for the vibrance of the spirit to grow and sore to heights of matured brilliance... I hope it is possible never to see life in grayscale... I hope it is possible for time to etch more and more interestingly, more and more creatively and profoundly, the diamond of youthful intelligence so it refracts magically and dances in its own psychadelic spectrum... I hope... I hope... I hope... We Can Shine On...
Shine On You Crazy Diamond
Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom, blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter,
Come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!
You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision, rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!
I consider myself lucky to have had the chance to hear the song live. Ah, Roger Waters, ah, Key Arena, ah, marijuana drenched dreamy smoky air....
