The Bonesetter's Daughter

Woah! Woah! What can I say? I just finished reading The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan, a little precious bundle of simple, yet brilliantly woven words that go straight to the heart.

Tan's work is not just fiction. It's a magical experience with many layers. The story not only speaks of the softness, the blinding, overpowering love, the strains, the conflicts and the nearness and distance in a mother-daughter relationship, but also speaks of the life of two generations of incredible women, of culture, art, war and revolution. Truly brilliant and touching.
