Breaking Boundaries

I can guarantee no one can guess all the mediums that went into this piece. It's a challenge, if anyone is interested. :-)

'Breaking Boundaries' 18"x24" Mixed Media on Canvas

This is not just a Samurai sporting a Katana. This is me wanting to break boundaries, as an artist and as a person.

Another wonderful piece.
I am curious to know what different media went into it :)

Hey Neeraja, It's acrylic, pastels, charcoal and red wine. :)

Initially I used it just to experiment and see what kinda look and feel I get when it dries. I wanted the dull red you get from when wine stains paper. But I applied it on a white acrylic background, and found that when it dried it looked grey and not the red I wanted. So I applied pastels of different colors but topped with wine, which gave it an interesting spread and texture. The best thing was that it was so effective as a fixative for the pastels that I didn't have to spray any fixative on top.
